Browser Extension Prototype

This is unreleased functionality

I’m playing with this and finding it super useful. Will publish after the corresponding desktop app update ships.

The extension allows you to share text to your local Everdo instance using an internal API.

Cool. Is there much benefit to this over just copying the text and dropping into the quick capture if I’m already very comfortable with that?

The extension adds a link to the source page. In this item I shared “Download the desktop app” as a title

When sharing as a note, the extension uses the page’s title as the item title. For example here the title was pulled from the source page and the content taken from the selection.

Oh I see, like sharing with the app on mobile :+1:

Cool! If you just right-click without having selected any text on the page, does it let you simply save the webpage as a note in the inbox?

Not yet, but I’ll see if that can be added.

This would be a very nice feature to have personally!
I often save a lot of webpages, or want to come back to them later and this would be a nice addition to quickly make note of them in everdo which I will check regularly.

The additionally functionality Jensodeg mentioned by saving the webpage as a note in the inbox would also be nice too. - Perhaps this would be possible to implement by just clicking on the extension icon?
Much like how many other things like OneNote webclipper or Todoist One-Click works. That would make it faster than having to always spot the everdo icon in the right click context menu.

Thanks for the pointers!
