I’d like to launch Everdo more than one time so I can have two or more Everdo windows next to each other.
This would come in handy when doing project planning in one window, while researching existing tasks and notes int the other one.
I guess there are lots of more use cases.
I remember that we have disabled the ability to open multiple instances of the app a while ago because it didn’t work right. Rather, it wasn’t supposed work at all, since each instance of the app is unaware of the changes made in the other instance.
That said, it might be feasible to show multiple windows for the same app instance. That would certainly be nice, but it also requires development, so for now I’ll add this in the low priority list.
Sorry to bump an old thread, but I wanted to add my vote to this idea.
My use case is that I often am using two desktop workspaces (personal and work). So it would be very useful to have an instance of Everdo open in each workspace, each with the appropriate Area selected.
Right now I make do by manually moving Everdo between workspaces and/or switching Area when needed, but it would be an improvement to my work flow to not have to do that.
You can easily setup several completely independent instances and create shortcuts to them. I use this setup daily.
e.g. Everdo 2nd instance
Everdo.exe --multiInstance --dataDir path-to\everdo2ndDB
Each of them uses its own database and of course you have to setup the sync in every instance.
