Error installing Everdo in Debian Bullseye

dpkg: problemas de dependencias impiden la configuración de everdo:
everdo depende de libappindicator3-1; sin embargo:
El paquete `libappindicator3-1’ no está instalado.

It says there is a problem of packages dependencies due to package “libappindicator3-1” which is missing.

This package “libappindicator3-1” ( Debian -- Details of package libappindicator3-1 in buster ) is not included is the new stable Debian and it is replaced (I think so) with “libayatana-appindicator3-1” ( Debian -- Details of package libayatana-appindicator3-1 in bullseye ).

And why you don’t use the .AppImage version instead ?

More information about this error (version 1.6.1 of desktop everdo).

https://www.debian.org/releases/bullseye/amd64/release-notes/ch-information.en.html#noteworthy-obsolete-packages

From section " 5.3.1. Noteworthy obsolete packages"

  • The deprecated libappindicator libraries are no longer provided. As a result, the related packages libappindicator1 , libappindicator3-1 and libappindicator-dev are no longer available. This is expected to cause dependency errors for third-party software that still depends on libappindicator to provide system tray and indicator support.

Debian is using libayatana-appindicator as the successor of libappindicator. For technical background see this announcement.

I am reporting about the .deb package.

Thank you for the update. I will try to correct the build.
