Awesome, and I like the long press to reach the input widget

That is a standard pattern in modern Android. The notification, however, has the advantage of being available in the context of another app, so you don’t have to go back to the home screen and the quick input prompt is overlaid on top of the app.

The only problem I see is that “annoying” notification dot in the upper right corner of the Everdo’s icon. Can I hide it somehow? If I turn off that notification the feature is gone…

Edited:
And here is the answer: App info → Notifications → Advanced → Allow notification dot (off)

Indeed, thank for the tip!

We want this feature also in iOS!!!

Awesome. Thank you!

Is it possible to add also a widget for tasks in Focus?

I think this might take a while since it’s not a high priority feature. For now, setting Focus as the default list in settings may help simplify access to it.

Do you mean via the shortcuts app?

Shortcuts app will definitely be awesome, but also using Haptic Touch to capture.
