The shortcut keys in the desktop app are based off an alphabetical sort of your first 8 areas. It would be nice if I could manually assign them instead to prevent me from having to awkwardly prefix them with numbers.
In the latest version of the app you can change the default keyboard shortcuts. Go into the keyboard tab in settings and scroll down to Area Selection. You can’t change the sort order but you can change which key is assigned to each Area.
