Widgets - Does iOS have widgets but Android Does Not?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I see people on the forum discussing widgets for iOS and I don’t see any widget options on my Android.

Does iOS have widgets and Android does not?

I’m about to buy a new phone anyway, I might just switch to iOS if I get access to widgets that way.

On Android you can long-tap the Everdo icon and drag “Add to Inbox” to your home screen. This will enable quick capture functionality. This is similar to the widget that is available on iOS.
